Tomcat is widely adopted in Alibaba, and is the dominating servlet container in Alibaba. It has probably the largest number of running tomcat instances in China. However, it is not easy to achieve stability in a high throughput production system, especially under big promotions like the double 11 festival. In this presentation, Huxing Zhang will share the challenges that tomcat faces in Alibaba's high throughput production environment, discuss how we we troubleshoot the issues, including concurrency issues, memory leaks, etc., and present the way to fix them.
Huxing Zhang is a software engineer of Alibaba Inc., and is a core maintainer of Tomcat in Alibaba. Huxing is also an active contributor of Apache Tomcat since 2014, and becomes a committer of Apache Tomcat in 2016.
