CloudStack had introduced support with Hyper-V during the 4.3 release where SMB was the only supported shared storage and High Availability of VMs was not available. In order to support HA, CloudStack is now integrated with Hyper-V Failover Clustering. With this support, users will be able to create VMs with HA enabled and also in addition use other storage options such as iSCSI storage with Hyper-V.

The support for iSCSI storage option is enabled using Hyper-V's Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV) feature. Cluster Shared Volumes are volumes in a failover cluster that multiple nodes can read from and write to at the same time. CloudStack has added support for CSV too as part Failover Clustering.
