Hyper-Converged Infrastructure is transforming the way private cloud infrastructure is being built. It eliminates traditional hardware silos of compute, storage and networking, to move all intelligence into a single software layer running on industry-standard x86 servers. This makes private infrastructure simpler, higher performing, and more cost effective.VMware's HCI is built over Virtual SAN as storage. VSAN is a software-defined distributed storage that aggregates disks (magnetic for capacity, SSD for cache) attached to a group of hosts into a single storage pool, and would be exposed as a datastore, which can be utilized as primary storage in CloudStack. Currently CloudStack supports deploying instances/volumes on NFS and VMFS datastores. Proposal is to support VSAN with storage policies. In this session, Sateesh will present and demo integration of Apache CloudStack with VMware VSAN
